Longevity TigWeld 200dx is AWESOME !

Im Tim Robel with GARAGE CUSTOMS, I just got my Longevity 200DX tig welder and water cooler put together on my custom cart. I turned the machine to ac and started to tune it all in on some scrap. Within a couple minutes I went to my project and started to weld .063 5052 aluminum strip onto my rear hugger project. All I can say is I had total control over the material. Awesome! I just welded a strip that came down to point without melting it away. I think my miller 250 dx is out as my primary welder! More to come. I will be doing a weld off between the two units in the next GARAGE CUSTOMS Episode #4.

I welded up some 4130 tube last night and once agin it ran so smooth. The control you have over the puddle is excellent. I highly recommend the the Longevity TigWeld 200 dx. My beads have never been better!

Aluminum tig welding is still my weakness. I can do fairly well on a flat weld but them daggum 45' degree welds and dang tubing still cause me to curse profusely.

Lol, With new Longevity 200 dx it easy and I had way more control the puddle on Aluminum. I welded .063 down to a point and I was amassed that I didn't melt the material away! If you get a chance you should try one out.

Yeah, I wish I could afford a class or two on tig but I'm broke far as money AND time goes right now. I could certainly use the practice for sure. I've been busy working at blueberry farm/processing plant bout 70 to 80 hours a week, running chicken houses, AND welding side jobs in what spare time I DON'T just to try to keep lights on around here and feed my youngins. LOL

I'm self taught, at 15 I started Lowering cal bugs and the first mini trucks. I would come home from school 2:10 and need to be done and all cleaned up by 4:30 when my Dad got home from work. I charged $100 a pop and I would do 2-3 a week with my Dads tools. My first purchase my my new made money was Lincoln mig. I took pictures of welds and tried to mimic the beads. With less than a bottle through the machine I had a guy want to trade for a 1957 Western Arctronics T.I.G. I made the trade and the welder worked really good on steel but at the time I never even tried aluminum. This was my machine for the next 20 years! I love T.I.G its like a signature on your work. There is a tool for every job, I M.I.G a lot of things, but for Car and Motorcycle work I sure love the T.I.G ! I wish I had the Longevity 200 Dx when I started, It would have made the learning curve so much quicker.
On aluminum set the machine to A/c, the Hz to 225 and balance to 60, start up amps 10 and end amps 10, argon flow 12/14 set heat with the knob on the petal and start a small shinny puddle dip your rod and move. Control your heat with the petal, backing off a tinny bit as the heat comes into the metal and you have a strong, great looking bead! Getting a machine the you can tune in is 3/4 of the battle! The rest is on you!
