If you wish to remove warping which is absolutely inveitable if you want to get it done in any reasonable time you need to buy shrinking discs off ebay they are cheap and if your work is cosmetic. If you mig take your time use .024 filler er70 s6 or s2. A dull grinding disc sometimes may work good to but once you get the hang of shrinking you can learn to control your metal, keeping your fill and work minimal. If your a novice stay away from flap discs or any of the grinding discs we use on general work and use sanding discs only, with a sanding disc you can remove what seems like a lot of metal without affecting structure but a flap disc or grinding disc cuts real quick.Way back when I was still in school, instructors paired up students to do heavy collision, and my project was the entire A-pillar and front hinges, sectioned into the car, the student I was paired with had no experience in collision so I did the work and he ground the welds, I thought that was a safe bet, he did not notice that he was grinding trhough the welds and also hitting another spot with his grinder, and effected the structure of the inner pan, which had to be cut out and replaced, I still remember his mistake till today, 24 years later.
With tig you should be able to weld with.024 mig wire twisted around itself for filler and not require any or very little grinding. The knob on the pedal could be set at 6 or 7, you may be better serveredpracticing on sheet metal without the pedal.I don't know anyone that dives right into a job without practicing with their welder to get the settings.Any spot weld should mimic factory spacing and count.Use weld through primer if you can.You are getting what seems like more warping with the tig because you are sticking around longer than you normally would trying to find what works for you.
