early tig welding results

Been practicing on some sheet metal. Long way from being "there" but I'm happy with my progress. I have tigged in the past but nothing detailed where warping was an issue. I have been tweaking the pulse mode and I think I'm getting the hang of it. My dimes still tend to spread out.

Looks good to me also.Nice straight beads.Usually when my beads start spreading out on me,i back off on the foot pedal some to reduce the heat some.On a long bead the heat tends to increase and flatten out the weld causing it to get wider.But there are more experienced members on here that can explain it better than me.

I really need to start playing around with the pulse feature. I've only recently gotten the hang of regular tig welding so I haven't ventured there just yet. Those welds look pretty darn good to me.

Slot more stable than my old Econotg...and the pulse is the cats meow...

The machine is great. Pulse is sweet. I haven't really gotten into the pedal yet as I like being able to set the machine and know that the only variable is my technique. I ran some aluminum beads that turned out way better. I think I'm too used to mig welding and cranking it up and running fast, it's difficult to slow down for the thin sheet metal.

Once you start using the foot pedal,you will like how much more control you have over your weld.I was intimidated buy the foot pedal when i first tried it,But i find it hard to go back to using just the straight panel amperage now,but that's just me,cause i enjoy using the foot pedal because it just seems easier to weld with it for me now.

I bought the Tigweld 200 as an introduction to tigwelding for myself. Now that I have gotten the hang ot welding with two hands I find myself wishing I had an amerage adjustment at my foot. I will definitely be upgrading in the future to a machine that accepts a foot pedal. Keep us updated on what you think about the machine as you get more hours on it. Thanks and good luck!
