    1.2 pounds and the adjuster knobs are on the outside of the hood.... only 2 arc sensors.... the question you SHOULD be asking is "where can i buy more clear protective lenses from and how much are they?" this lid would be a no go for me....

    I agree with Stan. - If the protective lenses are proprietary, it can be a pain if you need one, and can't just go to your local welding supply to get it.

    This is exactly why I love my Harbor Freight lid. And H.F. is about 10 minutes from my house.

    For its price the area of the veiwing area is very high, just as the other guys say get yourself one of their six packs of replacement lenses, alot of welders believe that your eyes are not worth chincing out on but I have a couple of import welding helmets.I see them as disposable helmets.
    I have seen some welding helmets from Lincoln normally price at $180.00 on sale at Candian Tire here in Canada lately for about $100.00, so it pays to look around, how much welding do you do, hobby or apprenticeship.
    Also Simon has a black helmet for about $99.00 and it has about 14sq inches of veiwing area, why don't you inquire about this, it is on sale;

    +1 to wookie.... (other than the nexgen lens, its miller elite for me) i like me eyes, i like them sooooooo much, that i take as good a care of em as i can, considering..... without them, my life would become pretty bleak, i'm sure of it..... the biggest thing that i DONT shirk on is protective footwear and protective eyewear!!! need my toes to control the rudder and my eyes to see the attitude/ altitude gauges so i can stay in the air! also protect me eyes cause i wanna watch my daughter grow up.... its not something to take lightly

    I used to have a speedglass and now I am also using a miller elite. Like the 4 sensors, much better hood. Also like the battery backup.
