Well the idea seem sharply divided and I can understand reasons for both sides.
In favor:
It opens up a new social aspect like a coffee klatch (sp?).
A person could run into a snag and if an experienced person is handy they could walk the person through the issue in a timely manner without resorting to setting up a common chat program.
If an answer is not understood a quick rephrase is possible.
Opposed:
Maybe a bit too social.
Good information would be lost to others.
Info passed on would most likely be from only one person or a small few and not give the asker input from the wide experience pool this forum's users can offer.
Posting allow people to proofread and think through a post or answer before submitting it (ideally).
I guess it boils down to time, instant gratification and lost or repeated information.
Unfortunately I have to run and can't finish this post.
