log in and get the Welcome you have won scam

I cant believe I logged in and got this pop up window saying I had won a $1000.00 Walmart card or my choice of other items. It was the same old scam of fill out this and do that then you have to complete 2 of the deals offered (which I didnt want any of them). I hope Longevity does not promote this type of scam.

Did you get this when you logged in to the forum? Longevity is not promoting this. Do you get it when logging in to other sites?
If it is just your machine having the issue let me know, I can help you get it cleared up.

    Bhardy,

You have a virus or possible toolbar installed on your computer causing redirection of the site and pop ups. Get AdAware by Lavasoft or Spybot Search and Destroy. Also, check out AVG FREE for free anti-virus. LONGEVITY would never allow for any scam such as the one you described, we never share information, nor do we add you to any contact list.

PS: Our website is encrypted, macafee virus secured, and godaddy secured.

    Good luck,

    Simon

Download and run MalwareBytes from Malwarebytes.org and run a full scan. it is a free download and does a good job of removing malware. Your antivirus may not catch some of the malware since it doesn't act like a virus.

If you still have a problem go to bleepingcomputer.com and download Combofix. This is a tool I use fairly frequently and it works well. You have to disable your antivirus first though. Don't forget to turn it back on when done. The computer will most likely reboot in the process. Also, many of the current malware items now block combofix so rename the executable by adding a letter in the middle of the name, doesn't matter what letter you use.

We have not had too many of those posts recently but I had a suspicion that user might be one that would get banned. Thankfully we can catch them before their posts become viewable by all.
