this was a good idea adding the features though I really don't understand the rep button feature yet. if you have any info on that please share it with us, guess it has to do with reputation of posts? or credibility some info says but how does it know? Just wondering where it pulls the info from. Maybe there could be a monthly or annual award for "thanks" and look out, also for 'groaners'!

If someone says something you feel merits MORE than a mere thanks then u click on the little scales icon at the top of their post window. You can add OR subract rep points. Most of the time a mere thanks for a good post OR a groan for a post where someone says something stupid or is just being an arsehat will suffice, but, from time to time it may merit more than a mere thanks or groan.

The rep comments we are talking about are the comments you can add when you are giving or taking rep points. I'm trying to find out how to set it up where those comments are visible as well as who made them but haven't been able to yet. If you would like to see an example of how it looks go to www.myhattiesburg.com and look through some of the posts there... I'm pretty sure you will be able to figure out which member I am

    Guys,

I attached an image of the rep points settings. Please let us know what you want us to tweak:

Also, we will add the mood icon as well. The groan one is coming, but i do not see in the rep settings where to display the comment.

I think they disabled the groan function when they upgraded the site. as for the reputation, click on the little star at the bottom of someone's post that you feel they deserve rep for and it will open a little box up for you to comment in. I don't think they have the rep. comments set to show up on the post but that is a possibility if the settings were tweeked a little. It would definitely be nice if the rep comments would show up on the posts themselves because I know I've added to some folks rep and would definitely like them to be able to see the comments as well as the general population.

I will ask Guru from the Myhattiesburg.com forum. He will know how to set it to show the comments.

The groan was disabled because it was getting used by mistake (people wanting to thank accidentally hit groan) leaving the reported user confused as to why. We try to always be positive here anyway. No need to cause friction or hard feelings.
