Trouble posting pics in gallery

i just got a new digital camera for Christmas and thought I'd be burning up this sight with new pictures, wrong, it's a 10 megapixal Insignia & all the pictures are too big (megs), wrong file ext. (easy fix) & video seams to be hard to do anything with grrrrrrr.

I can post pics in my threads but not to the gallery, need some help so I can win that much needed welder or just show off my stuff

You will probably have to resize your images. What file extension are they saved as. Microsoft has a free image resizer for Windows XP. You can find a clone for Windows 7 to do the same thing.
What is the size of your images?

Got the pic issue fixed I think after much stupid tries of other fixes. Went into my camera menu and changed settings so the pics are not so big (10 meg) changed to 3 meg I think but will play with it until I get it at the best quality/size that will work on here.
