    Have we been hacked again???

Today is the first time I could get to the forum since the last time I posted... I can't get to it directly and had to find a back door way in. When I try to get to it directly it tells me that it is "Unkown and is a virus/security threat." What is up with that? I may be the only one having that issue, but if I am I would like to know what to do to fix it.

    thanks,

    bluesman.

I haven't noticed anything wrong with the forum today. You may have an infection on your machine.
Download Combofix here http://download.bleepingcomputer.com...6/ComboFix.exe and save it on your desktop. Boot in safe mode with networking and run it. It will want to download the Microsoft Recovery Console, let it and let it install when completed. You will have to disable your antivirus (you can skip this if needed but I suggest you disable AV temporarily. Then you get a blue DOS type window with some coded status as it is progressing. Do nothing on your computer until it finishes. ComboFix may reboot your computer in the process, if it does it means you have something that can't be cleaned while running (not good) and it will be removed upon reboot. The DOS window will return at reboot or if no reboot it will continue until the program has completed its tasks. Once completed you will get a white text log in notepad showing what was removed and other actions. Once you get the white log screen you can close it and reboot normally. ComboFix will remove most adware/spyware and root kits from your computer. No sense saving it since it gets updated often several times a day. You will want to always download the latest version when using this program. Make sure the download is from Welcome to bleepingcomputers.com - Search Results for "bleepingcomputers.com" and it is ComboFix. Some malware programs have faked a combofix download that does more harm than good. You can trust bleepingcomputers.

This is my work computer and I don't have admin. permissions. I can't put any software on it myself and have to get the IT guys to do it. One of the drawbacks to having a govt. job. It may be an issue with the filters they have. It hasn't been a problem until now and they aren't able to figure out why it is doing it now because they haven't changed anything. If I worked anywhere else and wasn't friends with these guys, I would kinda question their forthcoming honesty, but since I fix things for them and they are good friends of mine, I trust they are being honest. They are trying to figure it out but so far they can't find anything on this end.

Could be something your employer has installed into your firewall to keep there data safe,Maybe you could ask the network admin.about it .

if you have a network admin at work, he might have blocked the site... or like someone else said they might have a firewall and it might not have liked the site for some reason or another..

I haven't seen any spammers on here... that's good!
How does a site operator prevent spammers and other attacks?

I'm trying Imunet Protect nowadays... seems to be working and keeping my machine bug free.
(Not any idea how it really works, though...)
