I think everybody should put their location in their profile (city, state) noones gonna stalk you and it's nice to know where someones from, may be neighbors. Plus if you need help, selling something or just want to see someones shop/equipment it makes thing easier to see if it's close enough or if your traveling in someones area you can buy them a beer/coffee/frappe last ones me

its easy enough to find out where someone is from..... i dont care about stalkers, its thieves you have to worry about...

i dont care about stalkers, i do care about having to shoot someone because they are trying to rob me. you never know who is lurking in the background on a forum

i could be way off, but i've heard stories of cars getting stolen and the thief got the locations on a forum.

Brucer has a point. Safety is always a concern! I have read that craigslist people are getting robbed when they are trying to checkout what someone is selling. This is happening around our area a lot given the economy. On the forums, I personally have not seen this in the welding community.

I can see this in the car community chat forums because there are people that do boost cars. I still feel that building a good friendship over the net is one of the coolest things to do. We all have shared the same interest here and I have seen some cool friendships establish!

For any wack job lurkers out there. I have 4 dogs, 1 rottie, 1 boxer, 1 pitbull, and the meanest of all a french bulldog,I am also a member of several firearm forums and some forums that are probably monitored by Gov't agencies. 3 of the 4 residents of the household have Gov't training at the least and the 4th member has the training of the other 3. I have 7 running vehicles for 4 members and 22 motorcycles so you really don't know whos home when. I live on the highest point in my county with no trees. Chances are while your spying on me I already know your there. I'm paranoid and delusional with violent outbursts and I have my own shooting range. I can reach out and "touch" you at over 500 yds consistantly......best look elsewhere......There that oughta do it!

In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, brave hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds however, the timid join him , for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.
