post count question

posting in the general chat room section doesnt count toward your post count does it?

The general chat room is part of the forum so posts there should count. There is also a chat window, posts there don't count as far as I know.

I just tested it and my post count went up one so it's confirmed, posts in the general chat room count.

hmm, i posted in the geaneral chat and replyed to a couple of posts, but my post count didnt go up.. i noticed it when i was posting about my heater install.



ok now that i posted this response my post count has increased... maybe i needed a page refresh or something.

On another forum I'm on your post count does not go up when posting in General Chit Chat. I'm surprised it does here. I may have to look around the rest of the place now...

If your post gets amended to a previous post the count will not go up. This happens when you post twice in a short period, the BB software automatically appends the previous post within a certain time period. Not sure what the time period is though.

Yeah it's a bummer when that happens, you just have to be aware of it while you're chasing your post quota.

I have posted a couple posts in a short period of time and it said something about,try waiting 30 seconds and post again.I am not sure this is what you are referring to.

If you post again after the 30 seconds in the same thread it will just append to your last post. Not the same as the 30 second thing.

Had that happen to me a week ago or so. I didn't notice the post count but rather that it said something like, "at such and such a time JolietJames added..."
Weird but I suppose it makes for less clutter.
