Started A New User Group For BBQ Fans...

In order to keep it all together and not clog up the main forum for folks who may not necessarily be interested. I set it to public where anyone can join and have it set (I think but may need to get Gadget to check) so that anyone can post pics in the album.

I know a lot of the stuff like "build oriented" threads and topics would be posted in main forum as well but this way folks that want to can post up other things that wouldn't necessarily fit on the main forum other than in the General Chat Room.

You can get to it by either visiting your profile and going to the "groups" tab or by using the 4th link to the right of the "New Posts" link (we are all familiar with... ) and clicking on "groups."

What about the posts in there Gadget? Do they count towards your post count?

Daggum. I know at some point if it gets enough members, if it is like other vBulletien forums, it can be given it's own forum style posts and don't know about this particular forum but on a few others I'm on that have social groups that meet a certain membership requirement, they do go towards post count. Oh well, it is still worth the effort I guess.

I made some suggestions to Simon, let's see where they go. Don't want to elaborate on them yet though, I'll wait to see what he says first.

Ok, guys the "group" thing was going to have a few issues such as posts NOT counting towards your post count AND, just as important, posts were limited to like 1000 characters, which frustrated me after I spent a pile of time typing up a quick and easy smoked pulled pork recipe...

So I got irrate and deleted the thread in the group.

Gadget and Simon talked and suggested we make a "STICKY" in a subforum for our posts to keep them all together and I'll delete the "group." This will solve both problems at once and will allow us to still have everything together for easy searching not clogging up the main forum sections.
