    Board Index clean-up?

I think the main board index is a little excessive. as in, it would look tidier and be easier to use the site properly if some forums get merged.

eg: longevity welding "how to" could merge with "general welding questions",

    have one generator forum,

PERHAPS merge Lincoln with Hobart, Miller with Hypertherm, Harbor freight with Other Manufacturers (all similar makers)...

    etc.

Simon, I agree with henrym. Combining some of the lesser used ones would certainly neaten things up. Good idea, henry

    Re: Board Index clean-up?

    cool.

on a similar note, some reorganization could be nice. say, sort the forums by what is being discussed.

    eg:

    Longevity welding process forums

    General welding questions
    TIG
    Stick
    MIG
    Other

    etc.

    Longevity Cutting process forums

    plasma
    CNC
    Other
    etc.

    Longevity product discussion forums

    Welders
    Plasma cutters
    Multi-purpose units
    Helmets
    Generators?

    etc. etc.

the order I posted is for general reference, and to point out what I feel needs organizing.

I think that, along with some forum merging, this would streamline the site considerably (when such changes can be managed).

now lets see some more feedback! positive or negative.
the sooner problems are resolved the better

    Re: Board Index clean-up?

    HenryM,

That is a very nice way to organize it and i think it is more simple. I am hoping more people can give us input on here before our final version is up. This is everyone's forum as much as it is mine.

    Everyone,

Please give us input on how you wish for us to set out a layout for the new forum. We want as many opinions as possible in order to make a set forum for everyone to be able to sort through easily!

    Thanks,

    hi Simon,
Only suggestion I have is that the forum transition be completed before changing its layout.
At the moment I notice pictures are not in place. Changing layout will put linking way out of wack.
As for navigating the sub-forums at current layout = no issue...
Members such as myself must be patient while you find and repair existing problems.
Later when things seem to be aesthetic, I'm sure many will suggest ideas to consolidate threads for a more user friendly experience here.

    Thank You
    Rhett

    Rhett,

Good point. I guess I am too excited. For the current issues, all have been submitted to the right people and vbulletin. They already responded. Lets see if we can make up for the missing pics tomorrow.

Yes, I like these ideas. The easier the better.
How about combining Miller, HF, etc into non-Longevity.
There has been 0 posts for dealers, remove dealers??

At first I liked the look of the new form, after using it I think it is GREAT.
