Cheap welding table

So we have all seen the nomad folding welding table(hopefully).......................
............its a good idea and I like it but it seemed a little flimsy and not to mention the price! one hundred and fifty bucks???? Come on! nono so I took one of those cheap wood craft tables and surprisingly they have a great base to them and took off the wood part and used my HF 4.5 Grinder to take all the paint off were i was going to weld, stuck some square tubing on top as a base for my 2.5' X 2' 1/4 Plate that I stuck on top and unfortunately thats all had time for today I plan on adding some wheels and an under table as well.............it feels real sturdy!! please let me know what you think. applaud

Looks good. I wouldn't put too much weight on the edges though.

Thats what I thought to so I tested it by sitting on the edge (I weigh 180lbs) and the thing is like a rock. Thanks for the advise

Looks very sturdy,may want to think about using exspanded metal for top suface to make a little more portable

Thanks Strube1369 I appreciate it im having trouble puting the wheels on the bottom because I keep on blowing through the metal of the work bench.............any ideas?

I am a rookie hobby welder so don't know much. I don't know what ya have for a welder, but I have had pretty good luck on thin stuff using my old Lincoln Tombstone arc cranked down to about 60amps with 1/16th" rods. Like I say, I haven't got much experience so I bet one of these knowledgable people can help ya better.
