well there was some welding on this project had a fill one hole
took a russian surplus mosin nagant rifle and put on a monte carlo composite stock on it
machine just behind the chamber to accept a scope rail
and machined off the stock bolt arm and drilled and tapped for the new bolt arm and a bi pod got it all together had it bore sighted and took it out was getting a nice 4 inch grouping at 100 yards and was reaching out to 350 yards with a 6 inch grouping pics to follow

having a mill at my desposal made lining everything up for the scope rails pretty easy

used to hunt white tail deer rabbits and squerrells when i used to live in kentucky not much of anything to hunt in socal so i just long range plink

I've got a decent single break. With polymer tipped pellets, you've got a great critter collector. I can reach out quietly to around 50-100 yards for rabbit pretty consistently.

The mosin looks great. Half the fun has to be knowing you paid less for a capable finished rig than most pay for low end optics.

Cabela's letting them go in near new shape for $100... Great deal for a bolt action that's sure to last.

Assume you're shooting surplus rounds. You could do a lot worse for a range warrior. ^_^
